Sending Damon to prison was the worst thing Winter could\u2019ve done. It didn\u2019t matter that he did the crime or that she wished he was dead. Winter thought he\u2019d cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was, or that at the very least she\u2019d have time to disappear before he got out. But she was wrong. Three years came and went too fast, and prison only gave him time to plan. And while Winter anticipated his vengeance, she didn\u2019t expect this. He doesn\u2019t want to make her hurt. He wants to make everything hurt. Damon knows he needs to get rid of Winter\u2019s father, giving her, her sister, and her mother nowhere to run. The Ashby women are desperate for a knight in shining armor. But that\u2019s not what\u2019s coming. It\u2019s time Damon took control of his future. It\u2019s time he showed them all that he will never stop being the nightmare they think he is. Damon won\u2019t have to break into her home to do it. As the new man of the house, he has all the keys.<\/p>\n

Wow! I was not expecting to like this one much since Damon was the worst person ever and could never be redeemed! WAY WRONG! He is by far my favorite now! He might be the most fucked up out of all of them but so far, he\u2019s the first hero in this series I sympathized with. It was so satisfying to finally understand Damon\u2019s complex mind and twisted character and to learn that they were resulted from his childhood trauma. I can see now why he\u2019s so obsessed with wanting to possess something pure, loyal and sweet in his life all for himself; to balance out the glaring darkness that was slowly eating him inside. The plot twist at the end was unexpected and I\u2019m so happy he and Winter got their happiness. This was my favorite of the series so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I gave this novel 4.5 stars. I am a true\u00a0fan of Penelope\u2019s writing and the beauty and magic she has with them by moving the mind of the reader to a whole new world.\u00a0And that\u2019s why I always read her novels, I never back down from signing up for her novels or anything that she promotes. She has earned that respect from me and the admiration is there as well. I knew that if I got involved with this series, something dark would come out of it and I have never been disappointed! She will always be an auto-buy for me. <\/p>\n
