The story begins with Blake Porter, a rising VP of marketing who\u2019s riding high until everything crashes down in a matter of days. Accused of corporate sabotage and abruptly fired, he\u2019s left scrambling to keep his dream brownstone and the life he built with his fianc\u00e9e, Kristin. Desperate for cash, they decide to rent out a room in their home.<\/p>\n

Then they meet Whitney\u2026she\u2019s beautiful, down-to-earth, and seems like the perfect fit. At first, everything seems fine, but it doesn\u2019t take long for Blake to start noticing little things that feel\u2026 off. They start having weird little arguments over things like cereal and shampoo (which only he<\/em> uses), and then it quickly escalates\u2014loud thumping noises in the middle of the night, strange smells in the kitchen that won\u2019t go away, and an overall vibe that something just isn\u2019t right. Blake tries to talk to Kristin about it, but she brushes it off and actually seems to like<\/em> Whitney. Meanwhile, Blake starts to feel like he\u2019s losing his grip\u2014and he might lose more than just the house if things keep going the way they are.<\/p>\n

This book was pure tension from start to finish. The slow build of unease, paired with entertaining early moments like the roommate interviews, created a deliciously deceptive calm before the storm. Once things started to unravel, I was completely hooked. I needed<\/em> to know what was really going on. And that ending? Let\u2019s just say I should\u2019ve known better. McFadden doesn\u2019t hold back, and she got me\u2014again!!<\/p>\n

The Tenant<\/em> is the kind of thriller that demands to be read in one sitting. Cancel your plans, clear your schedule, and prepare to be shocked. If you think you\u2019ve got it figured out\u2026 you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
