Danielle L. Jensen takes everything I loved about book one and raises the stakes with even more intensity, magic, and emotional payoff.

Freya’s journey deepens as she grapples with the prophecy tied to her bloodline and the devastating potential of her magic. She’s forced to make impossible choices—not just about war and alliances, but about who she can trust, especially when it comes to Bjorn. Their dynamic is filled with angst and heartache, but also such raw chemistry and loyalty that I couldn’t stop rooting for them. Watching them struggle through betrayal, duty, and conflicting paths made their moments of connection all the more powerful.

This book is a genre-blending triumph. There’s romance, fantasy, action, and even some mystery—all seamlessly woven together. Just when you think you understand who the enemy is or what the endgame might be, Jensen flips the script with new revelations that reframe everything. The plot is layered with twists and missing pieces that fall perfectly into place at just the right moment, keeping the tension high and the pages turning.

The Norse-inspired worldbuilding continues to shine, especially with the introduction of the Unfated and the morally complex characters tied to Freya’s past and destiny. But at its core, this story is about choice—about who we decide to become, even when fate seems already written.

I closed this book feeling fully satisfied. The conclusion is hard-earned and emotionally resonant, and I loved how Jensen balanced the weight of epic conflict with the intimate stakes of love and identity. If you’re a fan of high-stakes fantasy romance with richly developed characters and a gripping plot, this duology—especially A Curse Carved in Bone—is not to be missed.

The post A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L.
