When a strange, grumpy woman at a pawn shop offers her an unusual trade, Stella jumps at the chance to give her husband what he\u2019s always wanted.<\/p>\n

But this story isn\u2019t about warm holiday miracles\u2014it\u2019s about what happens when desperation and deception meet. Every choice comes with a price, and by the end, someone\u2019s definitely paying for it.<\/p>\n

I listened to The Gift<\/em> on audio, and at under an hour, it\u2019s a super quick read that\u2019s easy to fit in between longer books. Alyson Krawchuk\u2019s narration gives the story an extra edge of tension, perfectly matching Freida McFadden\u2019s unsettling tone.<\/p>\n
