From the moment she sets eyes on Tyler in her tattoo parlor, she knows he\u2019s the devil planning to make her life hell. Forced to play the part of his girlfriend and invite him into her family\u2019s glittering circles, Stella quickly clocks Tyler\u2019s ulterior motives. But love and hate are two sides of the same coin, and soon she doesn\u2019t know which is being blackmailed by a man who wants to ruin her, or that they can\u2019t seem to keep their hands off each other.<\/p>\n

This is the third book in this series. Though it was not the best, it was not the worst either. The biggest issue for me is that the central dynamic between Tyler and Stella starts to feel overused. It carries a lot of the story, but eventually becomes a bit exhausting, and I found myself wishing the book would move away from it sooner. The plot also gets a little shaky, especially toward the end, where it feels like there aren\u2019t real consequences for what\u2019s happened.<\/p>\n

That said, I still had a great time. I love Allen\u2019s voice. She\u2019s effortlessly funny and consistently creates characters you enjoy, even when they\u2019re objectively a mess. It doesn\u2019t fully recapture what made Lights Out<\/em> so special, but that one feels like lightning in a bottle. I rated this novel four stars.<\/p>\n
