Isabella Shay is usually a very honest person. But when she\u2019s running late for her first day at her dream job and the barista yells for \u201cAmy\u201d three times with no answer, she does the unthinkable. Izzy takes that PSL. It\u2019s the exact drink she ordered and paid for, only way further ahead in the queue, and she\u2019ll take whatever bad karma is coming for her; she\u2019s desperate and very late. But when she turns around and runs directly into the most attractive man she\u2019s ever seen, spilling the drink all over his made-for-GQ<\/em>\u00a0shirt and tie, she ends up having the ultimate meet-cute. Karma who? Sparks fly and things feel beyond promising, until he says to \u201cSee you tomorrow,\u00a0Amy.\u201d Izzy reasons she can just straighten things out the next day, no biggie. Only when she gets to her new office and meets the VP of her department, it is none other than Blake Phillips, the hottie from Starbucks. And the man might\u2019ve been charming to \u201cAmy,\u201d but he is an arrogant grump to Izzy, an arrogant grump who does not find her explanation funny at all. But day by day, an attraction simmers between them and they\u2019ll have to find a way to work together without ripping each other\u2019s heads, or clothes, off.<\/p>\n

Absolutely FILLED with playful banter, this low angst rom com gets the chemistry right. I loved how much texting and conversation there was between the characters, which made it easy to see all of the reasons they\u2019re perfect together. There\u2019s not much that I didn\u2019t like about the story. I do wish that things didn\u2019t move quite so quickly, but that\u2019s really my only complaint. It\u2019s just the kind of lighthearted read that you can binge in one sitting, and it\u2019s got so many fun, fall vibes and swoony moments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I gave this four stars. I think if you enjoy a light read without wanting too much angst, this is for you. Don\u2019t expect the storyline to blow you away, but the banter is cute and their relationship is fairly well developed (if you ignore the short timeline). There\u2019s also a nice slow-burn element, and some sexy scenes.<\/p>\n
