Meanwhile, Firth\u2019s mentor, Triponica, a member of the mysterious Beachlings who have long served as guardians of the sea\u2019s wisdom, falls gravely ill. Alongside the enigmatic healer Magda Luna, Triponica urges the younger generation to protect both the ocean and one another. As environmental destruction, corporate greed, and personal grief converge, the characters must decide what they are willing to risk for the people and places they love.<\/p>\n

\u201cMagic doesn\u2019t cease to be; it simply flows in circles. You must wait for it to come round again.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Indigo, the Deep<\/em> feels like the book I would have needed as a young reader. It acknowledges that the world contains loss, cruelty, greed, and uncertainty, but it also suggests that healing is possible for those with the courage to lean on community. Readers who find comfort in the gentle wisdom of The Little Prince<\/em> or the blend of wonder, spirituality, and hope found in A Wrinkle in Time<\/em> will likely feel at home in Dipitous Beach.
