But if Rosenstiel is big on imperatives\u2014journalists must \u201cinvent new products\u201d and do \u201cconstant\u201d fact-checking\u2014he has little practical counsel for carrying them out with slashed newsgathering budgets. And if his optimism about AI\u2019s \u201ctremendous potential for journalism\u201d is backed by encouraging evidence from newsrooms, he doesn\u2019t seriously reckon with the broader threats AI poses to industry jobs.
