This takes place during the exact time frame as Powerless is happening. Normally, I do not like books like these since I know what happens, but this is definitely an exception because it was fantastic and completely broke my heart! The slow building of chemistry between the two, blossoming into love, friendship, hopes & aspirations all come crashing together at the final trial erupting heartbreak in my sensitive little heart.
Of course this book gets five stars. This book felt like a goodbye I wasn’t ready for, but it also felt like the most beautiful tribute to someone who mattered deeply. I’m thankful Adena’s story was told. But what I now find interesting is Mak’s character arc. I already have a few theories but knowing what he is and what he can do, will surely make things interesting. Excited to see how it all plays out.
