Plot twist: happiness isn’t just in the books—it’s in the little things too.
Every season has its own little mood, don’t you think? Right now, mine feels like curling up in my favorite reading nook with a stack of books, a mug of something warm, and a few unexpected delights sprinkled in. These aren’t grand, life-changing moments—just the small joys that make me do a happy dance in my library. So pull up a cozy chair, and let me share what has been lighting me up lately.
1. Thermacell Mosquito Portable Repeller
My favorite summer companion isn’t a book—it’s this little gadget that saves me from being eaten alive. The Thermacell Mosquito Portable Repeller has become a total must-have in my life. We first pulled it out during our reading retreat when the flies decided they wanted to join the book club (uninvited, of course). Since then, I’ve used it everywhere—while camping, during backyard reading sessions, and even while enjoying a long, relaxing soak in the hot tub.
It’s ridiculously easy to use—just pop in a fresh blue pad and replace the cartridge every so often, and you’re good to go. No sprays, no sticky skin, no citronella smell following you around. With all the wet weather we’ve been having, the bugs have been relentless, but this little device keeps them away so I can focus on turning pages, not swatting pests. If summer had an MVP, this would be it.
2. Salt & Stone Body Mist
You know that feeling when you find the scent that just feels like you? Well, I found four. The Salt & Stone Body Mist scents are my new obsession. I started with the Body Mist Discovery Set—and I’ve been reordering it ever since because I can’t pick just one favorite. Every time I tell myself, This is it, I’m buying the full-size bottle of my top scent, I end up using (and loving) them all over again… and it’s back to the discovery set for me.
These mists are fresh, light, and perfect for everyday wear—they make me feel put together, even if I’m just lounging in my reading chair. I’ve added my referral link if you want to check them out for yourself, but fair warning: you might get addicted too. Here is that link: https://www.saltandstone.com/?referral_code=37qjYPtMy5gb2md

(I don’t get any compensation from them – I just love their scents)
3. Kitsch Rosemary & Biotin Shampoo & Conditioner Bars
For a while now, I’ve been on a mission to get my hair a little thicker and healthier—and I think I’ve found my secret weapon. I switched to the Kitsch Rosemary & Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner Set for hair growth, and the results have been so noticeable. My hair is growing faster, and I’m even seeing new baby hairs making an appearance (always a good sign!).
These little bars last a surprisingly long time—I’ve already gone through two sets and will definitely be replacing them when they run out. Plus, they’re plastic-free and travel-friendly, which is a nice bonus. I haven’t tried other brands yet, so if you have one you love, let me know. But for now, these Kitsch bars have totally earned their spot in my shower lineup.
4. Kindle Reading Stand + Remote Page Turner
This combo is my ride-or-die for cozy reading nights. My Kindle Reading Stand paired with a Remote Page Turner is the ultimate comfort setup, and I honestly couldn’t live without them. If you’re a book lover, these are absolute musts. Seriously—if you don’t have them yet, consider this your sign to click “buy” and thank me later.
There’s nothing better than burrowing under the covers, getting perfectly cozy, and reading for hours without having to shift, adjust, or poke a hand out into the cold just to turn a page. It’s pure reading bliss and a total game changer. My Kindle feels like it was made for this setup—and once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever read in bed without it.
And that’s my little happiness round-up for this season—just a few things making life sweeter, cozier, and a whole lot more fun. It’s amazing how the right scent, a clever gadget, or the perfect reading accessory can brighten your day and make ordinary moments feel a bit magical. I’d love to know what’s bringing you joy lately—drop your favorites in the comments so we can all add a little extra happiness to our lives. Here’s to soaking up every good page, peaceful moment, and happy dance this season brings.
