My Thoughts
Once you get past the initial shock of hearing an older woman casually discuss her past murders and methods, Too Old for This becomes a surprisingly fun, fast-paced ride. After that first jolt, I was fully invested in the story. Lottie is such a fascinating character—equal parts charming, sharp, and terrifying. She’s the kind of woman you want to have coffee with… but definitely don’t want to cross.
The tone strikes a perfect balance between dark and humorous. There are moments that genuinely made me laugh, even as I was nervously waiting to see who would end up dead next. I found myself rooting for Lottie not to get caught as the bodies (and complications) started to pile up.
The audiobook narration was fantastic—it really brought Lottie’s dry wit and matter-of-fact attitude to life. I flew through it, always eager to see how she would get herself out of her next problem.
