I’m not going to lie—the cover of The Christmas Tree Farm, complete with the red jeep, is what initially drew me in. Thankfully, what’s inside delivers exactly what you’d expect from a charming holiday read: a short, sweet, Hallmark-style romance centered around saving a beloved Christmas tree farm.
When Madison returns home to Oregon after years overseas, she’s determined to restore her family’s struggling tree farm, even as wildfire damage, financial strain, and differing priorities threaten its future. Add in a former high school flame with plans that could change the neighborhood—and Madison’s heart—and the stakes feel perfectly seasonal and familiar.
While this does include a second-chance romance, a trope that isn’t always my favorite, I appreciated that it wasn’t the main focus of the story. What really stood out to me was the relationship between the sisters. The emotional weight of their shared history and the tension around the future of the farm took priority, and I liked that balance a lot.
Overall, The Christmas Tree Farm is exactly what it sets out to be: cozy, uplifting, and easy to read. It’s a feel-good holiday story with just enough heart and hope to make it enjoyable without overstaying its welcome. A cute, comforting 3-star read that’s perfect if you’re in the mood for something festive and low-stakes.
