An ethereal excursion through the magic of nature and the mysteries held in an enchanted forest

A nymph, known simply as She, takes a journey through an enchanted forest unaware of what she’ll encounter. But lucky for her (and us), she’s open to anything.

In the forest, she is met with some serious magic as nature shows her all that it is capable of. Get ready to be greeted by crystal-twinkling pathways, friendly mushroom sprites, and a number of wise creatures.

At just under 50 pages, this book is an easy way to incorporate some calm and positive vibes into your day. With the most beautiful illustrations and a naturally relaxing style of storytelling from R. Kwinn, this book awakens any dormant feelings of joy and appreciation.

Reading The Gran Bwa Forest feels like a welcomed exhale after a long day. Kwinn pumps readers full of positive energy through a cozy and serene experience. If any book can transfer good vibes from their pages, it’s this one.

The protagonist is not only stunning, but she’s inspiring in her willingness to go with the flow and trust the process. Taken through the woods to the bottom of a lake, face to face with a wolf and beyond—her curiosity makes this story always remain a mystery. You never know what she’ll encounter next.

It feels very much like anything can happen in the world that Kwinn has created here. The protagonist’s open-mindedness makes each next page an opportunity for something exciting. She’s got an enviable attention to detail, stopping to notice the small things on the ground or in the sky, and she’s always getting rewarded for doing so. Her character is a good reminder to be present in nature and our everyday lives.

The images in The Gran Bwa Forest far exceed expectations. Dan Raja’s illustrations are so vibrant and pair so well with this bright, light fairytale story. I was in awe of the immense detail on every page. It rewards careful, searching eyes. In vivid colors, the little creatures are shown with great big personalities and the main character’s joy is infectious. Kwinn’s story provides an amazing setting while Raja’s illustrations bring it to life. This is the kind of book you’ll want to get prints of to hang on the walls, or just have sitting around on your coffee table for visitors to peruse and fall in love with.

The Gran Bwa Forest is a stellar escape from reality and a reminder to find the magic in everything around us. You’re going to want to stay on this journey forever.
