I am absolutely flying through James Patterson and Marshall Karp’s NYPD Red series, and I seriously cannot get enough of these books!
Detectives Zach Jordan and Kylie MacDonald are back, tackling another high-profile case in New York City. As members of the elite NYPD Red task force, they’re used to dealing with some of the city’s biggest crimes, but this time they’re facing one of their most dangerous criminals yet.
What makes this series so much fun for me isn’t just the clever mysteries and fast-paced investigations. It’s Zach and Kylie! I am so invested in these two and their careers as detectives that I feel like I actually know them. Their witty banter, sarcastic humor, and complicated history make them such an entertaining duo. I love how their personalities shine through even when they’re in the middle of solving a serious crime.
This is exactly the kind of police procedural I love! It’s clever, suspenseful, surprisingly funny, and so easy to fly through. Patterson and Karp have a way of keeping the action moving while making you genuinely care about the characters.
And the best part? As soon as I finish one book, I immediately want to pick up the next because I’m just not ready to say goodbye to Zach and Kylie!
Another fantastic installment in a series that has completely hooked me. Five stars!
