Ramsey Dellinger delivers a spellbinding short fantasy that’s as enchanting as it is profound with Guardians of the Glimmer Nook. At its heart, this tale is about the resilience of light in the face of overwhelming darkness—and how one person can change history if they believe in themselves and their own power.

We follow Liora, a young mage from House Eyre, whose destiny is unexpectedly bound to the Etherwood, a mystical forest teeming with ancient magic and hidden dangers. Tasked with guarding the ethereal sanctuary of the Glimmer Nook, Liora’s journey is more than a battle against external forces; it’s a test of her courage, identity, and faith in the light within herself. 

When an ancient evil known as the Devourer begins to spread its corrupting shadow across the land, Liora and her steadfast warrior companion, Rukh, must gather rare magical artifacts and unlock forgotten spells to stand a chance against the encroaching darkness. Dellinger’s worldbuilding is lush and atmospheric, painting the Etherwood in vivid, almost tactile strokes. The forest is alive—both a character and a battleground—where enchanted flora conceals both wonder and danger. Readers will feel the tension as Liora steps deeper into this otherworldly realm, where every rustling leaf might signal a lurking threat, and the very trees seem to hold ancient secrets. The magic isn’t just in the spells or artifacts; it pulses through the narrative itself, drawing readers into a world where hope flickers like a fragile flame in the dark.

Beyond the magic and mythical beings, this story thrives in its emotional core. The relationship between Liora and Rukh is built on trust and mutual respect, and their evolving dynamic adds a grounded humanity to the fantastical stakes.
